Mighty Kindness Hootenanny Voted second for BEST ANNUAL FESTIVAL IN LOUISVILLE!

Wow! "The little grassroots festival that could" is now second only to Derby!
Amazing really... such a testament to the heart and soul of our community.
We really want to be connected and support what is good for ourselves and each other, we are seeking better ways of being together and a new vision for society. It feels right to live in integrity, respect and joy with the earth, ourselves and each other.

Thank you for this humble honor...let's keep Louisville Kind and giving a Hoot!

The 2011 Earth Day Hoot!

http://www.facebook.com/media/set/fbx/?set=a.10150233486587040.362642.52307592039

What a memorable, fun Hoot! It was so heart-warming that everyone came out in a monsoon to celebrate our Mighty Kind Community! A world record was set with the "Great Cloth Diaper Change", the music continued in the rain, there were booths inside and outside, the Jam Tent was full, Farm to Fork provided good, local food, kids played in puddles while the ducks swam,
people walked away with great jewelry, art, free seedlings, local eggs, organic vegetables and invaluable information about energy conservation and growing. The highlight was the Mighty Kind Community Circle where we envisioned what we wanted our community to hold....
unity, green energy, organic, local farms, hugs, cucumbers, light rail, community gardens, love,
deeper connections, clean water, air and soil, smiles, peaceful hearts....may it be so and may we continue to grow more mighty kind!

Next, we hope to see you at the Mighty Kindness FundRaiser Sunday, May 15 4-7 at The Monkey Wrench with music by Andrea Davidson, Justin Lewis, Kri and Hettie, Troubadours of Divine Bliss and Serpent Wisdom!

2:30-3:15 "Earthsaving as a contact sport, a.k.a. serious fun."
with Nate Pederson-Earthsave
Earthsave educates the public on the less obvious features of our world, specifically our food system, our dietary needs, and the impact of our own choices--but we fully understand that people change their minds slowly...and change their habits even slower. This workshop will discuss how to take this eco-knowledge and apply it to individual behavior change by featuring the positively compelling actions that make change easier. Food is necessary fun!

3:30-4:00 "Bike Maintenance-Fix your Flat" with Andy Dyson- Bicycling for Louisville
Do you want to ride a bike more often for transportation, fitness, to
be kind to the environment, or because it is an almost free way to get
around that is FUN? Are you put off by busy streets that are not
designed for bikes, a general attitude that you don't belong on the
road and the worry that you might get a FLAT TIRE on the way to work
or an important appointment? Bicycling for Louisville aims to take on
all of these issues, but today's workshop will show you how easy it is
to fix a flat tire on your bike FIRST TIME. We will also cover tips
to prevent flats and other problems you might encounter with your
bike.
Bring your bike if you have it with you!
[you might want to include this last line if the workshop takes place
in an area where people could bring their own bikes. I will have
tools for three or four people to practice]

4:30-5:00 "Using Sound for Self-Healing" with Nanci Wesling-
BioSpiritual BodyTuning & Featherhawk Essences
Sound, or frequency, is a powerful tool for self-healing. Join me and we’ll explore toning and the use of tuning forks and vibrational essences to restore physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual harmony.

Mighty Kindness Harvest Hootenanny Saturday, November 7th 11-6 at Willow Park

Mighty Kindness is a local community unity organization and online resource that seeks to bring together all things in our eco-region that create a circle of sustainability and contribute to our common wealth.

This year's 2nd annual Earth Day Hootenanny was such a hit, people asked us to have another Hootenanny in the fall.....so we are! This is an opportunity to bring our community together in joy and fellowship and let them know about all of the phenomenal services that exist in their own backyard! . Come spread the good word about your kindness...it's free to table and participate!

Come enjoy inspiring local performers, witness the wonder of our mighty kids being educated and entertained, discover community services that you never knew existed, find out about products provided by your neighbors that are good for you and eco-friendly, and meet local farmers & get fresh produce delivered to your door. Come hobnob with the heart of our commonwealth - where earth advocates, peaceful warriors, union members, social justice workers, eco-conscious business people, artists, healers, dreamers, heroes & heroines all come together to create a community with vision, beauty, wholeness, and a healthy respect for our beloved Earth!

There will be a number of different things going on throughout the day, including:

Mighty KIDness Tent - An area dedicated to the kid's and their families. There will be local children's organizations with earth-friendly fun & educational activities for the kids!

Mighty Kind CommUnity - A gathering of many organizations & businesses all in one place, sharing with each other and the community at large what their groups are doing to help make Louisville a Greener, Happier & Healthier place to live!

Free School - Various discussions/workshops from making green cleaners, to mountaintop removal, to composting

What a Hoot! Kindness became more mighty at the Earth Day Hootenanny!

You made the Kindness Mightier!
Thanks from our hearts for being a part of the 2nd annual Mighty Kindness Earth Day Hootenanny!

What an amazing day of kindness, joy, music, empowerment, connections, KIDness, dancing, healing and unity!!!!! Thank you to all you mighty kind ones who helped create a Utopia in Willow Park.
There were so many smiles and we received a great deal of positive feedback. The Music & Dance Festival was a huge hit and went off without a hitch thanks to Brian with Ultimate Audio on sound. The Mighty KIDness was alive with activity with a kid's music jam, storytelling, face painting, hula hooping and receiving free organic tomato plants complete with lessons on growing from the farmers at Foxhollow. Over 50 green businesses, healers, artisians & local farms were present and important introductions were made with new supporters and friends. We greatly appreciate how well everyone worked together with grace and joyful cooperation. You all create tremendous hope for a united, kind and sustainable community. We truly honor the vital energy you bring to our commonwealth and encourage everyone to follow through on the contacts made, commit to supporting green, local goods & services, go out and listen to the extraordinary local music in the Ville and keeping reaching out to make this kindness more mighty!
What a Hoot!!
